This website is dedicated to publicizing and promoting
my music, as well as Chicano music in general, which
doesn't get its share of attention in the mainstream
media. There is also a special emphasis on the
music and career of my dad, Lalo Guerrero, and the
musical artists who emerged from East Los Angeles from
the 1960s to the 80s, who were part of what has become
known as the "Eastside Sound."
Included on my Chicano Music Articles page are articles
I've written about Chicano musical artists. Artists
I've spotlighted include Chan Romero, Don Tosti, Flaco
Jimenez, El Chicano, Tierra, Los Lobos, Lalo Guerrero,
Carmencristina Moreno, Cannibal & the Headhunters,
The Premiers, The Blendells, Little Willie G., Trini
Lopez, Chris Montez, Freddy Fender, Little Ray, Hirth Martinez,
The Romancers, Tango, Los
Illegals, Geree,
Redbone, Rubén Funkahuátl Guevara, Malo, and Ronnie
& the Casuals. There are sound bytes of the music of
the artists at the end of each article and my Photo
Gallery page
contains photos of the all the artists.
The
Miscellaneous Writings page contains reviews I wrote
on a book entitled "Land of a Thousand Dances"
and a double CD called "The Chicano Alliance, both in
which I'm featured. There are also CD reviews of
Los Lobos' 1999 album, "This Time," and the new
compilation, "Thee Midniters
Greatest." Also liner notes I wrote for Lalo
Guerrero's 1999 CD, "Vamos a Bailar Otra Vez!,"
and liner notes and a bio of my teenage
band, Mark & the Escorts, I wrote for the CD
released in 2000,
"Eastside Sound, Vol. 2, Featuring Mark & the
Escorts" on Dionysus Records. You can also
read about a new book on the life of my dad,
Lalo Guerrero, called "Lalo- My Life and
Music." Stories and reviews
of recent and historic live events are also included on this page.
Check
out the What's New pages which
have information about
new releases, upcoming shows, events, lectures, and TV
appearances involving myself or other Chicano artists.
One of the "What's New" pages is dedicated to
new artists to check out.
The Mark
Guerrero & Radio Aztlán page
has information on my new band, which is a vehicle for
my original music. We had our first gig, July 20,
2002 at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, CA, on the bill
with Malo and Tierra.
Read a review of the concert on this page. Also
read about our appearances at The Hop in the
City of Industry, CA, La Placita Village in Tucson, AZ, the Gene Autry Museum of Western
Heritage in Los Angeles, the John Anson Ford Theater
in Hollywood, and the Latin Oldies 2003 Festival in San
Bernardino.
Check out the Lalo & Mark Band page,
which has information on concerts I've done in recent
years with my dad, legendary Chicano singer/songwriter,
Lalo Guerrero. Go to the "Home Gig" page
to check the schedule of my cover band, "Hot Rox".
"On
the Boulevard" and "Rosalie", songs I
wrote and performed, are included in the
Chicano Alliance
CD. It also includes recordings by artists such as Tierra,
El Chicano, Malo, and Little Joe y la Familia. You can
hear sound bytes and order CDs and audio cassettes of
my music on the Mark Guerrero Recordings page.
I
am one of the artists featured in "Land of a Thousand
Dances," a book which chronicles the history of
Chicano rock music in Southern California.

for more information. Also available are Selected
Lyrics
to some of my songs, a Related Links,
Related Books, and a Media
Clippings page.
My
newest pages are: The 60s
Eastside Flyers / Band Card page, which features scans of flyers
from East L.A.'s golden age. Get a glimpse of the
Eastside music scene that was happening in the
1960s. Also, on that page are band cards from the
era. The other new page is the Record/CD
Labels page, which features scans of my record and
CD labels, as well as album covers.

hope you enjoy my website! If you have any questions
