Mark Guerrero with Yaqui
Yaqui Reunion Concert at The Hop
Puente Hills, California
May 26, 2005
I was asked by Yaqui to take the spot of the late Eddie Serrano
at a Yaqui Reunion Concert, which was organized for the reissue
of Yaqui's 1972 album on CD. I took some of Eddie's
vocal parts, played guitar, and sang the lead vocal on three
songs, my "On the Boulevard" and "I'm Brown"
and my dad's "Los Chucos Suaves." We did six
of Yaqui's songs from their 1972 album, "Yaqui,"
which was released on Playboy Records.
Musicians: George Ochoa (lead vocals, keyboard), Ron Reyes
(lead guitar), Art Sanchez (bass), Rudy Regalado (timbales),
Ray Rodriguez (drums), Larry Cronen (keyboard), Mark Guerrero
(lead vocals, guitar), and Willie Loya (congas). Willie
was sitting in and not a member of the original Yaqui.
