Mark Guerrero at the
McCallum Theater
Palm Desert, California
October 11, 1992
My performances below were part of a tribute show to my father,
Lalo Guerrero, which was produced by my brother Dan.
Many artists were on hand to sing Lalo Guerrero songs, including
Daniel Valdez, Don Tosti, Little Joe Hernandez, Cheech Marin,
Paul Rodriguez, Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Mariachi Campana de
America, Carmen Moreno, and others. Comedy groups Culture
Clash and Latins Anonymous performed and Cesar Chavez and
Edward Olmos spoke at the event. I sang two songs at
the tribute, my dad's "Do You Believe In Reincarnation?"
and my song "The Ballad of Lalo Guerrero," which
was written for the event. I performed the former song
with a band and the latter solo.
Musicians: Mark Guerrero (lead vocal, guitar), Marcos Loya (acoustic guitar),
Willie Loya (congas), drummer, bassist, and 2nd keyboardist
unknown, and on background vocals Donna Dee, Karista Cook,
and Brenda McPherrin. On the second video below "The
Ballad of Lalo Guerrero"- Mark Guerrero solo
(vocal and acoustic guitar).
